Christian School Drama Festival ~ Feb 8

The Christian Schools Drama Festival is coming!

Mark your calendars for Friday, February 28th and join us in the auditorium at Redeemer University College. Enjoy student-led drama presentations of improv, student-written plays, and excerpts from some of your favourite dramas performed and directed by students from HDCH, Smithville Christian High School, Toronto District Christian High and King’s Christian Collegiate.

Admission is free! We are grateful for the partnership with Redeemer to help put on this great event.

  • Parents are encouraged to ask any questions they may have, listen to their child talk about his/her learning, and share their insights and perspectives during the discussion.
  • Students will talk about their work, what is going well, what they are proud of, and what is challenging; sharing ideas about what they need for their best learning.
  • Teachers will facilitate the discussion; listen to insights from students and parents; and share their own perspectives about student learning.

Church Leaders’ Breakfast ~ Oct 30th

On October 30th HDCH will host a breakfast for pastors, youth and ministry workers.  As we are partners in equipping youth, this is a wonderful opportunity to share the HDCH story.
Dr. Owen Webb will speak about Restorative Practices at HD and church leaders will have the opportunity to tour the school and connect with students.  A delicious breakfast prepared by Chef Nathan will be just one more reason your pastor may want to attend!

Grade 9 Day – Sept 6th

We invite all grade nine students from Hamilton District Christian High for a day of funs, games & service.

Note the following:

  • bring a refillable water bottle
  • make sure to wear Long pants, long shorts or capris. As well, wear a plain t-shirt with sleeves (not sleeveless)
  • closed-toe, rubber-soled shoes & socks must be worn (please no sandals or heels)
  • let us know if you have any dietary requirements

Grade 9 Day family BBQ – Sept 6th

Grade 9 Parents: Your family is invited to join us for a bbq and a recap of the day @ 5:45. The evening will conclude @ 7:15 pm

Grade 10, 11 & 12 Students: You don’t need to come to school on Sept 6th, as we’ll all be out with the grade 9 students.


Picture Day  – Sept 9th

Students are expected to wear their school uniform for picture day. This picture will be used for the yearbook, their Edsby profile and their school records.

Within a couple of weeks, students will get their student ID card and parents will be given a code from which they can order student pictures online.

Golf Tournament – Sept 14th

HDCH Golf Tournament – Share a great day of fun, laughter, food and golf at Flamborough Hills on Saturday, Sept 14, 2019.  BBQ Lunch and registration begins at 11am with tee off at noon.  The tournament concludes with a prime rib dinner buffet, contest prizes, and a raffle.  Dinner only tickets are also available to purchase. Campus Update – Feasibility study introduction – Sept 16th

HDCH has embarked on a feasibility study which is designed to gather valuable information from HDCH’s donors, alumni and parents’ of students and will help us determine our school’s ability to raise funds for our Campus Renewal Plan. We have retained M&M International, an independent consulting firm, to conduct a completely confidential Feasibility Study on our behalf. Learn more >>

OFSAA ~ June 6 – 8th

We are excited to share that HDCH is hosting OFSAA, the Ontario Provincial ‘A’ Soccer Championships, this June.

We host OFSAA for two reasons.

  1. hosting provides our young HDCH athletes with the opportunity to develop sportsmanship and community.
  2. it allows us to share HDCH’s generous hospitality and commitment to excellence with people from all over the province.

OFSAA is a large undertaking that involves 45 coaches, many volunteers, and 800 soccer players from all over Ontario. We’ll also be welcoming spectators including parents, grandparents and other community members. As alumni and parents and a part of our support community, we invite you to participate in this terrific event.

This evening event, hosted by the HDCH Student Services staff, is designed to demystify the sometimes confusing process of post-secondary planning and application and to help kick-start those important family conversations about life after high school.

This evening is designed most specifically for grade 11 students and their families and for grade 12 students who might still have some questions about how to make final decisions.

A sample of topics for the evening includes:

  • Where to look for post-secondary options?  Electronic research tools
  • How do we make the right choice? Working through the options
  • What’s the process? On-line applications to colleges and universities
  • What’s it going to cost? Funding post-secondary education
  • How can I prepare my kid for the next step? Successful transitions.

Our goal is to walk through the next-steps options and to answer your questions about university, college, apprenticeship, and workplace choices and procedures. Please join us for a lively and informative discussion! Refreshments will be provided.

High School Choral Festival ~ May 3

Our school choral group will be participating in the annual Ontario Christian High School Choral Festival (OCHSCF). This year Heritage School is hosting. The concert will be May 3 at 7:30 p.m. at Calvary Gospel Church, 89 Scott Street, St. Catharines.

Tickets are $5/students, $10/adults, $30/family.

Estate Planning seminar / will clinic ~ May 14th

Hamilton District Christian High, together with Christian School Foundation is hosting a free Estate Planning Seminar on May 14th at 7:00PM here at HDCH. Learn how to have an effective Will and Estate Plan that is tax-smart, protects your family and best of all learn how to use current and future gifts to impact charities that are important to you.
