The World Waits: Christmas Concert ~ December 13

Tomorrow  (Thursday, December 13), we invite you to wait with us as we present a Christmas concert in the school gymnasium at 7:00 pm. You will hear musical performances and a drama presentation from the drama class.

The event is free, and we look forward to celebrating with you, your friends, and your family. This Advent, we hope that you make time to wait. Merry Christmas.

Warm Up Hamilton
The Christians in Society Class are accepting donations of new or gently used coats, sleeping bags, hats, mitts, and anything else that is in good repair that could be used to stay warm this winter. Please consider bringing in items when you come for the Christmas Concert. All of the donations will be given to the Salvation Army soup truck that will supply those in need with these important winter supplies.

Celebration of Learning ~ January 10

As the end of the semester approaches, students are working hard completing projects and assignments that they are eager to display. This evening is a highlight each semester when we gather as a community to admire and celebrate student learning.

Project Assessment Day ~ January 11

Please be aware that the day after January’s Celebration of Learning there will be no regular classes. The school will be open, but it will not be mandatory for students to attend.

What will be going on that day?
Buses will be running, so students are welcome to come and connect with a teacher for extra help, see other projects, and work independently or in small groups on things that they might have coming up. Some classes might even have optional work sessions. And for parents, it will be another chance for you to come by the school during the day to see what your child has done, especially if you can’t make it to the Celebration of Learning on January 10th.

Student Project Fundraising Dinner ~ March 30

Reception starts at 6:00
Seating for dinner will start at 6:30

Support exceptional Christian education through the Student Project Fund. Your support through this fund will create dynamic learning experiences that take learning beyond the classroom. It will ensure strong growth and skill mastery, and potential for beautiful products that bless a community beyond HDCH.

Dinner will feature the culinary delights of local Chef Ken LeFobour from Nellie James. Come to enjoy our Silent Auction and other fun activities.

Looking to explore potential career pathways as part of your High school program?  HDCH offers some exciting and valuable opportunities for career exploration and experiential learning.

Our Students Services department will be hosting an information evening for students and parents in Grades 9-11 about our Venture Program and our Co-operative Education experience on Thursday, November 29th at 7.30 PM in the Library. We are inviting retired adults to join us every Tuesday during the month of November and the first Tuesday of December to gather as a group in order to build community followed by time together in small groups.

We pray that this intergenerational gathering time will enable us the opportunity to learn and grow in our faith together. Please join us starting on Tuesday, November 6th at 9:00 – 10:15 AM.

Please come to the morning sessions that you are able which will include: Tuesday, November 20th, 27th and December 4th. This is a special opportunity that is being hosted by the HDCH Christians in Society class. Student Learning Conferences ~ October 18th & 23rd
At Student Learning Conferences, we invite students to join their parents/guardians in meeting with teachers to talk about their learning together.

Parents / Guardians ~ Listen to your child talk about their learning; share your perspectives and ideas as they relate to their learning, and participate in the discussion about how to best support student learning moving forward.

Students ~ Talk about your work, what is going well, what you are proud of, and what is challenging; share ideas about what you need for your best learning.

Teachers ~Teachers will facilitate the discussion; listen to insights from students and parents; share perspectives about student learning, and participate in the discussion about best supporting student learning moving forward.

Picture Re-take Day ~ October 30th
Anyone who was absent on picture day or who is dissatisfied with their pictures may have their picture retaken on that day.  A new student card will be generated as well as the opportunity to order portraits.

Early September

Grade 9 Day – Sept 7th

We invite all grade nine students from Hamilton District Christian High for a day of funs, games & service.

Note the following:

  • bring a refillable water bottle
  • make sure to wear Long pants, long shorts or capris. as well, wear a plain t-shirt with sleeves (not sleeveless)
  • closed-toe, rubber-soled shoes & socks must be worn (please no sandals or heels)
  • let us know if you have any dietary requirements

Grade 9 Parents: Your family is invited to join us for a bbq and a recap of the day @ 5:45. The evening will conclude @ 7:15 pm

Grade 10, 11 & 12 Students: You don’t need to come to school on Sept 7th, as we’ll all be out with the grade 9 students.


Picture Day  – Sept 10th

Students are expected to wear their school uniform for picture day. This picture will be used for the yearbook, their Edsby profile, the school records and will be made available to you to order.

Make it simple by ordering your portraits online using your Picture Day ID and child’s first name. If you prefer to order on paper, we will be sending an order form home as well.
