Valentines Day SUPPORT

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
HD students are thriving,
Because of you.

Thank you for the love you’ve shown for HD last week. Together, you have added $3,400 to the Tuition Assistance Fund.

We have been overwhelmed by the kindness of donors. Here are some of the blessings we received:

  • Thanks for providing assistance. This has helped my grandson be able to attend.
  • Thank you for fostering the development of faith in your students.
  • Thank you for helping me provide my boys with Christian education, so glad to be able to help others now. 🙂

The Tuition Assistance Fund continues to grow with your grace and support.

Tax Receipts

Tuition and donation receipts are will be mailed out this week. If you don’t receive one by the end of February, or have questions regarding your receipt after you’ve received it, contact our Director of Finance, Sherry Osinga, at sosinga@hdch.org or905-648-6655 X111.

Volunteers Needed

Plans are underway for the Eat, Give & Be Merry Spring Fundraiser Dinner on March 28th. Many hands will be needed to make the event an even greater success. If you prefer to roll up your sleeves over pulling up a chair, please contact Tina VanDyk and volunteer to help serve from 6-8:30pm or with clean-up from 8-9:30pm. Volunteers will receive a complimentary dinner.

Literacy Test

The Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test, which is a graduation requirement in Ontario, will be written on Tuesday, March 31. Grade 10 students and any grade 11 or 12 students who have not yet completed their Ontario Secondary School Literacy requirement will be writing the test.

We will be mailing a letter home later this month with the information you need if your child will be writing. In the meantime, you can go to eqao.com to find out more.

Vaccination Reporting ~ Deadline Feb 26

Parents and guardians: if you received a letter from Hamilton Public Health last month regarding missing vaccination information for your child, please ensure that you have followed up with that organization. Students who do not have a complete vaccine history or who do not have an official letter of exemption on file by February 26 may be suspended as per the Immunization of School Pupils Act.

Details about what and how to report are on the Hamilton Public Health website. Please note that non-medical vaccine exemptions for school-age children will require the completion of an in-person immunization education session. Further details about exemptions can be found here.

Any questions should be directed to Public Health at publichealth@hamilton.ca or 905-540-5250.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. We much prefer our students to be in school!
