Student Learning Conferences ~ Oct 17 & 22

Next week, we will send parents an email notification with instructions on how to sign up for conferences. Please make sure that your Edsby account is set up now so that you can book appointments.

For assistance with Edsby, please contact Kris Slootweg at info@hdch.org.

At Student Learning Conferences, we invite students to join their parents/guardians in meeting with teachers to talk about their learning together.

  • Parents are encouraged to ask any questions they may have, listen to their child talk about his/her learning, and share their insights and perspectives during the discussion.
  • Students will talk about their work, what is going well, what they are proud of, and what is challenging; sharing ideas about what they need for their best learning.
  • Teachers will facilitate the discussion; listen to insights from students and parents; and share their own perspectives about student learning.

Church Leaders’ Breakfast ~ Oct 30th

On October 30th HDCH will host a breakfast for pastors, youth and ministry workers.  As we are partners in equipping youth, this is a wonderful opportunity to share the HDCH story.
Dr. Owen Webb will speak about Restorative Practices at HD and church leaders will have the opportunity to tour the school and connect with students.  A delicious breakfast prepared by Chef Nathan will be just one more reason your pastor may want to attend!
Invitations will be sent from the office, but if your pastor is unfamiliar with HDCH or you feel they may be unknown to us, considering extending an invitation to them to attend.  For more information, contact Tina VanDyk 905-648-6655 x 110 or tvandyk@hdch.org
