COURSE SELECTION

Students are in the process of selecting their courses for the 2019-2020 school year. Although it may seem soon to be thinking about next year, early information helps us to prepare more effectively.

It is critical that parents and guardians are involved in the process of course selection, helping students keep in mind their goals for the future, graduation requirements, and their particular gifts and passions.

In order to encourage this, we are hosting course selection online again. This will be done through the myblueprint.ca website. Staff from our student services department has been visiting classes last week and this week in order to walk students through the course selection process.

Parents will have received a reminder email that includes log-in information. If you want to see the full details of our program, please look over our 2019-2020 Course Calendar, available at http://hdch.org/course-calendar/

For helpful resources on Course Selection, visit the Student Services group on EDSBY. On-line course selections should be completed by Dec. 21.

Vaccination Reporting

In accordance with the Immunization of School Pupils Act, Hamilton Public Health is working to ensure that they have up-to-date vaccination records for all students who attend schools in the City of Hamilton.

Parents are required to communicate their children’s vaccine history to Hamilton Public HealthDetails about what and how to report are on the Hamilton Public Health website.

Please note that non-medical vaccine exemptions for school-age children will require the completion of an in-person immunization education session.  Further details can be found here.

Any questions should be directed to Public Health at publichealth@hamilton.ca or 905-540-5250.

In case of wintery weather

Now that we are getting closer to winter, it seems prudent to remind you of what to do if you wake up one morning and the weather outside is frightful.

We will post cancellation notices in the following places: Edsby, CHCH TV, CHML 900 radio, Facebook, and Twitter. If there is no cancellation notice, then come on in – we’re open!
