Course Selection

Planning for 2019/2020

Early in December, our grade 9 through 11 students will be selecting their courses for 2019-2020. As well, grade 12’s will be indicating their intentions for next year. We believe it is critical that parents and guardians are involved in the process of course selection, helping students keep in mind their goals for the future, graduation requirements, and their particular gifts and passions. In order to encourage this, we provide online course selection.

With, students and parents can see course history and make use of post-secondary planning tools in addition to choosing courses for next year.

Classroom Visits

In early December, Student Services staff will be visiting students in-class to walk them through this process. Most of our grade 10-12 students have already have created their myBlueprint accounts and logged in at least once. Our grade 9 students will have a chance to do this with Student Services staff next week.

Grade 9, 10 & 11 Families

In consultation with their parents, students will select their courses while logged into their individual myBlueprint account. Once course selections are submitted, a sign-off sheet will pop up in another tab of your browser. Please print this sheet, sign it, and have your child return it to his/her homeroom by Friday, December 15.

Grade 12 Families

If you are a parent of a grade 12 student who is planning to graduate and/or not return to HDCH next year, there is no need to select courses. We do ask that your child indicates the “not returning” option and intended destination (apprenticeship, college, workplace, university, etc.).
