Moms in Crisis support

The drive for items for new moms supported by the Parenting Support Services of Hamilton is underway! We are collecting donations of self-care and well-being items for new moms who need support including:

  • shampoo
  • body wash
  • toothpaste
  • socks
  • candles
  • journals
  • scarves
  • colouring books
  • pencil crayons
  • tea, etc.

Are all welcome donations for new moms in need. Buckets in each homeroom are ready to be filled and will be collected until Friday the 16th.

The parenting class have also been eagerly learning how to knit and crochet baby mittens to gift to the new moms and babies we are supporting!

Exceler8 Day

November 22 for Grades 9s
HDCH is excited to welcome our future knights to campus on November 22nd. To accommodate our guests, Grade 9 students have the day off. Grade 10, 11 and 12 classes will be running as normal.

The MakerSpace is open every day after school, but on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Mr. Hordyk hangs around to help and facilitate projects. If you are interested in making a project of any sort, drop by and say hi.

Homework Help

Looking for a little support with your homework? Drop by the Grove after school Mondays through Thursdays until 4.

Vaccination Reporting

In accordance with the Immunization of School Pupils Act, Hamilton Public Health is working to ensure that they have up-to-date vaccination records for all students who attend schools in the City of Hamilton.

Parents are required to communicate their children’s vaccine history to Hamilton Public HealthDetails about what and how to report are on the Hamilton Public Health website.

Please note that non-medical vaccine exemptions for school-age children will require the completion of an in-person immunization education session.  Further details can be found here.

Any questions should be directed to Public Health at or 905-540-5250.

In case of wintery weather

Now that we are getting closer to winter, it seems prudent to remind you of what to do if you wake up one morning and the weather outside is frightful.

We will post cancellation notices in the following places: Edsby, CHCH TV, CHML 900 radio, Facebook, and Twitter. If there is no cancellation notice, then come on in – we’re open!

Re-enrollment & Course Choices 2019-2020

Even though we’re just over a quarter of the way through this school year, we are starting to plan for the next one! As part of this planning, our Student Services Staff will be visiting all of our grades 9 through 11 students in their classes starting December 4, to introduce them to make course selections for next year. Because this process is an important one for students and parents to work through, we’ll be sending our students home with a worksheet that you can look at together.

If you want to start thinking about it now, there are course selection tips here. And parents, you can expect to receive an email with more detail on Monday, November 26.
